The 2019 La Tour Carnet has turned out beautifully. Dark, pliant and super-expressive, the 2019 possesses tremendous richness as well as character. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, leather, spice, licorice, iron and dried herbs infuse the 2019 with gorgeous layers of dimension. La Tour Carnet is a consistently outstanding bottle, as it is again in 2019.

Confident and ambitious as is his signature, this combines a gourmet raspberry puree feel with tight and controlled cassis and cedar notes, rolled up with a fresh mint finish. Fine purity with layers of unctuous dark fruit like cassis, cherry and plum with some new oak and tobacco leaf. Dense and muscular palate, high extraction, but already rather rounded with a fine dose of freshness, fine length and ageability.

Offering up aromas of rich cassis and blackberry fruit mingled with burning embers, loamy soil and cigar wrapper, the 2019 La Tour Carnet is medium to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with a broad attack that segues into an ample core of fruit that's framed by ripe, powdery tannins and lively acids. This is a seamless, rather giving Médoc that has turned out very well.

The 2019 La Tour Carnet has a well-defined bouquet of lifted black fruit, wild hedgerow, melted tar and just a touch of juniper berry. The palate is well balanced with supple tannins, a mélange of red and black fruit, fine salinity and a nicely detailed, persistent finish. This is an excellent La Tour Carnet, one of the best in recent years.

The 2019 Château La Tour Carnet is terrific, with a pure, medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated style as well as impressive cassis, tobacco, spicy wood, and graphite aromas and flavors. The purity here is spot on, and it has ripe, polished tannins, outstanding balance, and a great finish.

Dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, broader edge brightening. Delicate roasted aromas, a hint of nougat, pleasant blackberry confit. Elegant and balanced, pleasant sweetness, round tannins, mineral notes, firm finish, hints of chocolate in the finish, will benefit from aging in the bottle.

The nose is fruity and offers a racy minerality, a fine power, a good definition as well as a fine grain. It reveals notes of ripe wild cassis, ripe blackberry, small notes of violet associated with small touches of violet plum, small crushed red fruits as well as very fine hints of racy minerality (terroir), zan, camphor and toasted/sweet spices. The palate is fruity, fresh, well-balanced and offers a good definition, juiciness, gourmandize as well as a beautiful definition, finesse and tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, juicy cassis, violet, small notes of cornflower associated with small touches of violet plum, graphite as well as hints of crushed raspberry, fine hints of liquorice, tonka bean and sweet spices. Good length. A very discreet hint of chocolate on the finish/persistence.
